A Travellerspoint blog

Tanzania

The seven of us here in Kericho, along with volunteers from two other locations in Kenya, are being evacuated to Tanzania for two weeks (at the minimum).
It's so that we can 'decompress.' If you have been reading, then you are aware how little in need we are of this (especially with our current resort style living).
All the same we are very excited to be seeing a new place and (of course) increasingly guilty about the treatment we are receiving.
I will update once we have arrived.

Have a safe trip!

(if you're doing the math with time zones, then you know that I have been checking your blog during the workday here. i am, incidentally starting a new job in about a week, so i've become pretty detached from efficiency here, and consequently have devoted a bit more time than i probably should to reading about what's going on over there)

Nate,
Wow. I found out about your Peace Corps mission yesterday and read the entirety of your blog in the past 24 hours - an impressively compressed twelve months. I don't really have anything important to say, except Thank You for writing this and being safe.
You are very much on my mind.

Nate,
So glad to know you and your Peace Corps mates are safe.
Your writings have been rivaling NPR's coverage. I keep expecting Lisa Mullins to say, "And now, we hear from Nate Baumgart, our correspondant in Nairobi. Nate?" "Yes, Lisa..."

Is there anywhere I can send mail now?
We miss and love you here in Evanston/Chicago ...

Thanks, Nate, for keeping us parents posted. Have you met up with James? He got separated for awhile from other PCVs. Hope he is with you now. I got from Hannah's blog that the group will join the new Tanzania trainee. Is that a blessing or what ... HA.

Keep us posted. Your reporting keeps us connected beyond the normal channels.
